Today we started the day with some pretend play. In the Touch and Feel pool were people and animal puppets, gloves, and band-aids. The kids knew just what to do! There were band-aids everywhere.....on themselves, on each other, and on the puppets! There was diagnosis and treatment happening independently. So so very cute!
Ms. Michelle was here today for Occupational Therapy. We started the session with an obstacle course, but to make it even harder, the kiddos had to complete the course while holding on to a balloon. Balancing is much more difficult when you have something in your hands! The course began with things to walk across, then through the tunnel, and ended with some crawling on bubble wrap.....all with the balloon! For Finger Fun, some of the kids practiced letters using Do-A-Dots, while other kids explored the sensory water beads. Everyone got a turn with each....and there was even some negotiating to trade colors!
Then.....we had plans to read a doctor story....but the photographer was running ahead of schedule, so we headed over for pictures early. I would like to go on record as saying.....indoor pictures are MUCH much much more difficult than candids on the playground. I think we got at least one good one of every kiddo....but natural smiles are hard to come by in front of a camera!
Not much time left after the pictures....so we watched a few doctor videos and songs. We will save the book and the art for tomorrow.
